This CCW Course satisfies the NEW California (SB2) 16 hour training requirements as set pursuant to the standards in PC 26165, which includes a qualification with your the firearm(s) you wish to place on your CCW permit. (a savings of up to $150). YOU MUST bring and qualify with
each firearm you want to have on your permit.

Course Description - Please Read entirely. Signing up for a course Does not guarantee you will pass. You must demonstrate safe firearm handling, pass a shooting qualification of 70% or better and pass a written test. Any unsafe demonstration of firearm handling may disqualify you from the course without refund. 

Prerequisite: 

This is not a beginner course. Students must be able to show that they can safely manipulate and fire a handgun. Careless/unsafe gun handling is not acceptable and will be cause for removal from the class/range with no refund

  • Positive attitude and eager to learn.

  • Firearm(s) must be registered in your name.

  • No pregnant women (for baby's safety).

  • No spectators allowed.

  • No pets allowed.

  • If you are a felon, you are not permitted in the class room nor on the range for any reason or may you be in possession of a firearm under Federal Law.

  • Proper handling of a firearm.
  • Responsibility of handgun ownership.
  • Concealed carry.
  • Interaction with law enforcement.
  • Laws regarding use of firearms.
  • Range safety rules.
  • Demonstration of safe firearms handling skills.
  • Live fire of authorized firearm(s)
  • Firearms and ammo are to be left in your vehicle (for range day) until instructed to retrieve.
  • De-escalation Techniques.
  • Places you can and can not carry (California and federal laws)
  • Criminal and Civil laws and penalty.
  • Traffic stops while carrying a concealed firearm.
  • What to do after a shooting (recommendations).
  • How to interact with Law Enforcement after a shooting.
  • CCW Preparedness (recommendations)
  • For class session, bring your firearms and a holster with good retention for each firearm (if the police department you applied with requires it, like Burbank, Santa Monica, Lancaster, or if you did you application with MYCCW or my M&P) you want to qualify (holster not required for LAPD, LASD) with for inspection and keep them in your vehicle until instructed to retrieve them. DO NOT bring any ammunition to class).

  • Ammunition - At least 80 rounds for 1st firearm and 30 rounds for each additional qualifying firearm. 

All ammunition must be full metal jacket (New). No Wolf, WPA or Tula ammunition allowed. YOU NEED to score at the range at least 70% to pass.

  • At least 2 Magazines or 2 revolver speed loaders (not the strips)

  • Good Holster with retention, THIS IS REQUIREMENT SET FORTH BY THE DEPARTMENTS. (Kydex preferred). NO flimsy or SERPA holsters. (not mandated by LAPD or LASD)
