I have over 19 years of security, military and police experience and have literally attended HUNDREDS of training courses. I just completed the CCW course offered by certified instructor Arvin. He stated that he has 30 years experience, and it shows. He is knowledgeable on the training material.

​As with any training course of this nature, expect to have to watch some old videos that are required. Arvin makes the class enjoyable by lightening up the dryness of those required training videos with humor while keeping the integrity of the training in the classroom.

​I would like to note that one of my pet peeves is lack of safety in a range from shooters. Any time I go to the range, I expect the range master to call out anybody who demonstrates a lacking of gun safety or who does something unsafe. Arvin gave excellent gun safety instructions to the class, however, some students who might be new to handling guns still may have some problems at the range. Arvin did a GREAT job in handling the couple of safety issues and addressing them on the spot. In one particular case, he had to progressively raise his voice until he yelled at a student because he was doing something unsafe. Once the student corrected his action and learned from his mistake, Arvin went back to training. Fortunately there was no serious safety issue. Arvin made it very clear that if he witnessed a student commit a serious safety issue, he would disqualify that student. I was glad to hear that! THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT AT THE RANGE! It is obvious that Arvin is serious about gun safety. If you take his course, know that he will be looking out for everyone's safety. He was very vigilant to everyone's actions.

​For anyone who thinks that a range instructor should not yell if there's a safety issue, just remember... we weren't in a kitchen cooking food, we were in a range shooting firearms! I like to think that anybody would want a high degree of safety in that case.

​​I would also like to note that his course is one, if not, the most competitive priced on the list for LAPD's approved training providers. The classroom is air-conditioned and he provides free water and coffee for the students. The parking lot is the perfect size for the amount of students and he closes the gate once all cars are inside for additional safety. I will definitely do my renewals here.

INSTRUCTION- Arvan is an EXCELLENT teacher. He's extremely knowledgeable in this complicated set of laws and procedures for CCW's, a clear communicator- he will break it down for you so you 100% understand- and a personable man. This is for both his range and classroom instruction.

Put it this way; even if I moved an hour + away before my renewal and found myself 5 minutes from a new place, I'd go back to Nationwide and Arvin- that's how much they have my confidence. And even if it's far for your travel, remember what you are doing and what's at stake; invest the day and be in good hands- GO TO NATIONWIDE! Thank you, Nationwide."
